1 in 3 American families reports experiencing diaper need.
No Child Wet Behind is a 501c3 dedicated to awareness, education and the donation of diapers to needy families with infants and small children.
When a family struggles to, or is not able to provide diapers for their child, the family is affected both physically and emotionally.
Programs exist to assist families with basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing, but surprisingly, diaper need is not supported by any government program.
No Child Wet Behind, began as a local diaper drive and fundraiser with a 5k run when owners of Northeast Doulas, a New York based Doula agency learned of the struggle needy families were having keeping their babies clean and dry.
On May 21, 2016 doula business owners in 30+ U.S. cities will be hosting “No Child Wet Behind” events. Each event will include a diaper drive to benefit a local charity, a 5k run and a 1 mile family fun walk with activities to be enjoyed by the entire community.
What started as a small local event has grown into a not for profit organization that is now responsible for initiating 30+ diaper drive/fundraiser events throughout the nation hosted by indepenent doula businesses.
These events will take place on May 21, 2016 and it is anticipated that this number will more than double by 2017. Each participating doula business has chosen a local beneficiary to distribute the collected diapers.
Diapers will be collected through local sponsors, diaper drop off locations and can be donated on the day of the event. The diapers will then be gathered and brought to the beneficiary’s location.
